Thanks to Patti Olson for supervising the work on the grounds during Tiffany Robert's absence. Lois Chatfield has generously offered to chair the Garden Park Election Committee this year. Thank you, Lois, for taking care of this important and sometimes difficult job again. She has asked Wendy Pauluk,--Hannah-Fryr-Marge Wypych, Schie Bogar, Jeanine Thomas, and Patti Olson to join her on the Committee.
It was nice of Margaret Gant and Patti Olson to volunteer their time and energy to help Tiffany plant flower beds. A big thank you! The flowers are beautiful this year with lots of roses. Thanks again, Tiffany Roberts.
Thanks to all residents, who recognize that knowing and following Community Rules makes our Garden Park community a wonderful place to reside! (Copies of Community Rules may be obtained from Rich Well at TPM.)
Thanks to owners who pay their management fees, assessments and fines on time in order that GP is able to pay its bills and meet community needs.
Each year Garden Park holds an election of Management Committee members to fill the positions of the members whose terms expire on September 30. All Committee members terms do not finish at the same time in order to preserve a continuity in the work of the Committee.
This year the election will be on Tuesday, September 18. The Election Committee will send letters with complete information to each homeowner as the time approaches.
The Election Committee will be looking for homeowners, who would be responsible, good candidates for nomination to run for a position on the Management Committee. It is probably best if candidates have lived in or been associated with Garden Park for at least a year or two so they understand what is needed to maintain an operation of this size and complexity. It is also hoped that each candidate will be committed to maintaining the Park in pristine condition as required by law and will be willing to serve a full term.
Thank you for volunteering to be a candidate or for nominating someone else who would be a good choice.
Garden Park property values are rising due to the improved appearance of the Park. The resurfaced roads, the improved landscaping and grounds care, the lack of litter in common areas, the willingness of residents to clean up after their pets, etc. has enhanced the look of our surroundings. Thank you all residents for contributing to our community by maintaining the outside of your area in a clean, neat and litter-free condition! As a bit of additional information -- are you aware that Orem City has an ordinance that requires residents to maintain their yards and keep them free of junk? Garden Park is a good example of following this ordinance!
During a Park walk in June members of the Management Committee identified a variety of repairs that need to be done. A few are mentioned here:
Clubhouse renovation and access ramp Black trim on buildings needs painting Corrugated rain extensions needed on leaking rain gutters.
Carports need repairs and paint
Sprinkling system is in desperate need of repair. Actually the total system needs to be re-done!
Areas in the fencing need repair. Electrical wiring, some exposed, needs attention.
Many other specific items are on an extensive list.
On September 8, 2007 a disaster preparedness drill will be held in our area, which will involve the three condominium complexes - Garden Park, Countryside Square and Evergreen Court. Some of you will be asked to be Building Captains to help organize and supervise this event. Please accept if you are asked. All residents of Garden Park will participate. Further instructions will be forthcoming in the very near future.
No new holes may to be made in any outside wall for cable TV installation or satellite dishes, which cannot be attached to any outside surface. The dishes were banned and removed in GP last year.
The next Management Committee meeting will be on Wednesday, August 15 2007 at 7:00P.M.
