Many Thanks

Thanks to Larry Goff for his study of GP financial records and projecting a budget for the next three years.

Thanks to all who are willing to serve as GP Building Representatives. As a special service for 2007, they will be leading in the disaster preparedness drill. Find these helpful people listed elsewhere in the newsletter.

Margaret Gant is a member of the Election Committee. Her name was omitted from the list of Committee members in the last Newsletter. Thank you, Margaret for helping with this important event.

Garden Park Election

Homeowners, please read the election information carefully when you receive it in the mail. Note dates of meetings held in connection with the election and plan to participate and vote. Nominations for candidates to run for the GP Management Committee are important. The Election Committee is waiting to receive your nominations. Please submit several of them!

Emergency Prepardness

September is emergency preparedness month according to a recent article in the Deseret Morning News. The article states that, "Community-based preparedness planning allows us to prepare for and respond to anticipated disruptions and potential hazards following a disaster. Individuals can prepare their homes and families to cope during that period. Studies of behavior following disasters have shown that groups working together in ,the disaster pel1iod perform more effectively if there has been prior planning for disaster response."

All residents of Garden Park will be participating in a Disaster Preparedness Drill with the other condominiums in the area on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 8:00 A.M. Expect to receive further information about this from your Building Representatives. Be sure that your Unit receives and completes the Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness Summary. Some of you may have completed one of these summaries already. If not, obtain one from your Building Representatives.

Need Help?

Garden Park's property management company, Total Property Management, should be contacted if an owner resident has an individual problem or question, i.e. light replacement, parking problems, rule violation, etc. Be sure that you ask for Rich Wells. Copies of Garden Park's Community Rules may be obtained from TPM as well. Remember all residents are expected to know and follow these rules, which are statements of common courtesy. They are designed to ensure harmony/ cooperation and peace in our GP community.

Warning: Lock Doors!

It has been reported that a thief has been roaming Garden Park and entering unlocked cars during daylight hours. Be sure that your car and house are locked! If any suspicious activity is seen, please call the police - 229-7070 (Det. Backus).

Next Management Meeting

The next meeting of the Management Committee will be held following the GP Annual Meeting on September 18, 2007. This Management meeting will include all newly elected Management Committee members and those continuing on the Committee.

GP Newsletter

The NEWSLETTER is meant to be a source of information for all residents and homeowners in GP. Newsletters are mailed to all owners and delivered to other residents. If you do not receive a copy, contact TPM.

Speeders Beware!

Please slow down as you drive through Garden Park. There are small children who may be unable to get out of the way of a speeding car. There are also many older residents/ who could be vulnerable. Fines can and will be issued to violators.

Satellite Dishes

Several new residents of Garden Park have inquired about satellite dishes. They have been told no, that new dishes are not allowed. GP banned the installation of satellite dishes over a year ago to improve the appearance of the Park. It appears that some have gone ahead and made unsightly installations in spite of this warning! Fines can and will be levied. Please be supportive of GP policies.
