Topics Discussed

Dumpsters

As many of you may have noticed the dumpsters are very full by the end of the week. We are still trying to save money by having them come and dump them once a week for our three main bins. Some weeks we are better than others. Because we are reaching the limits of the bin almost every week, we need to be extra diligent in conserving space. Boxes valuable waste space if they are not broken down. Also we need to put ours bags towards the back so the side openings stay clear.

Satellite

We have reconsidered our policy on satellites. Skyview Satellite has met with us and proposed a solution to our satellite dilemma. We like this proposal and wanted to update you on how they plan to handle installs. Each building can use only one dish and can handle every unit. This will minamalize the number of dishes on each building.  Also, they can provide contract for DirecTV and Dish Network. If you are interested getting satellite for your home contact Spencer Huntsaker from Skyview Satellite at 801-577-9379.

Pool

The pool is open! Please review your community rules so this summer goes smoothly for everyone. We need to make sure we have all children in appropriate/designated swim diapers.

Insulation

Currently the utility companies are offering incentives for new insulation. For those of you living in upper units you can get new insulation with all or most of the cost paid back through the utility companies  rebates - Questar and Rocky Mtn Power. Call and confirm the qualifications and requirements before doing the install.

Japanese Beetle

The city has place traps for the Japanese beetle for the summer. These traps have been placed in specific places if feel a traps needs to be moved you must contact the city. Do not move yourself. Their number is 801-972-1669.

Park Walk

We are having another park walk this June. To encourage attendance we will be having two walks one at 8am and the other at 10am Saturday June 21. The park walk is to help get feedback from all of the residents and for us a committee to show you what things we have planned and what we have done. We hope all can make time for this so we can maintain Garden Park in great condition. For this park walk we are requesting at least one building representative for each building be in attendance.

Porches

With the summer and swimming season here, we need to be careful not to have bicycles, toys, swim gear, planters, etc on our entry porches and stairs because they could be hazards to our residents and guests.

Election

The elections are coming up. There are two positions to fill with Tom Powell and Larry Goff ending their terms this September. The elections committee has been gathered to manage the elections.

Nuisance

We have had several complaints from residents about their neighbors. We live in close proximity to each other and we have to be careful not to bother other residents. A nuisance is anything we do in our own homes that causes a nuisance to our neighbor. This can be smoke, noise, etc. In Garden Park some of the units have shared utilities like air vents. If you are a smoker or have young children in diapers or play music loud late, be careful that the odors or noise from your home are not causing a reason for complaints from the residents around your home.

Thanks

Thanks again for trying to keep things running smoothly within our community. A little effort from everyone, goes a long way.
