Park Walk
The park walk was not as big of a success as we had hoped. As a committee we really would like to show what we are currently doing and the plans that we have for Garden Park. Let us know if the park walks are not a good idea and we should try and accomplish this another way.
Pool
The pool is open and I think that everyone is enjoying it. The pool is a very good thing for us here at Garden Park. Lately we have had some concerns in regards to the use of the pool. The pool is to be used within the bounds of the rules that have been set in the community rules and the posted signs. If someone breaks the rules, aware of the rule or not, can be enough for the resident to lose their priviledges. It is the responsibiliy for residents to educate themselves and their guest to the pool rules.
The people in charge of the pool are: Ida Smith opens the pool. Pam Wilkinson cleans the pool each night. Mike Stewart of Swimfast does equipment maintenance and orders chemicals. Individuals are needed to put the cover over the pool each night. Lost keys can be replaced by contacting TPM. If you are a new resident you should have obtained a key from the former owner. If you have not please notify a committee member or TPM.
Elections
This is your formal notice about our upcoming election, as required by the by-laws. The election will be held in the clubhouse beginning at noon on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. We will conclude the voting at 6:30 that evening. The election committee will count the votes and announce the results at the Homeowners Meeting that will begin at 7:00 that evening. If you want to vote by absentee ballot, contact a member of the election committee. If your address is outside the boundaries of Garden Park, an absentee ballot will be enclosed with the letter that will be sent to you on September 1.
We will hold a “Meet the Candidates” night on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, beginning at 7 p.m. in the clubhouse.
We have two openings on the management committee, and we hope to have at least four candidates so that the homeowners will have a choice. One homeowner has already volunteered to run, so we hope that at least three more will step up to fulfill their citizenship obligations. If you haven’t had a turn serving on the management committee, you need to volunteer. If you’ve served on the management committee before, it’s time to consider adding to your service to Garden Park. If you know of someone who would be a good management committee member, please get the person’s permission and then give his/her name to a member of the election committee. We’ll need to get our letter out to the homeowners by September 1, 2008 (Labor Day), so all nominations need to be in the hands of a member of the election committee by midnight on Friday, August 29.
The election committee members are: Lois Chatfield - Chairman, Wendy Pauluk, Hannah Fry, Schie Bogar, Jeanine Thomas, Patti Olson and Ida Smith.
