Pool Rules
Recently there have been some complaints about the pools use. Residents have reported that the pool is being abused by residents and non-residents included. Some have seen non-residents without a resident present using the pool. If you see the pool being abused contact a member of the Management committee or TPM. We can’t fix what we don’t know.
Most of you may know of the cryptosporidium affecting many pools. Be sure to be aware of the new health code rules and warnings before swimming.
Included at the end of this newsletter are the rules for the pool.
Volunteers
Garden Park is a large condominium complex with many areas of maintenance. Some of Garden Park, like the swimming pool, needs constant care. But some of the maintenance and administration can be handled by residents instead of professionals. The advantages of this is financial. We are asking if you are interested and able that you contact your building representative, management committee member, or TPM to let us know how you can help. The management committee is a good example of this. Each member of the committee also can have a committee to help ease the load of there individual tasks. Many of the tasks volunteered for would not demand much of you time. They would be small jobs that might take an afternoon every couple of months. That is a small price to pay instead of an assessment.
Dumpsters
You are probably tired of hearing about the dumpsters again. I hope you haven’t already skipped this part of the newsletter. We keep writing about the dumpsters because it is something we all use and it affects a lot. The reason we have tried to make the dumpsters work with one dump a week is because of the cost difference. It is several hundred dollars a month to add more dumpsters or to increase the number of dumps per week. With gas prices growing those costs are sure to climb right along with it. If we change our current situation and cause our fees to go up just because we didn’t or couldn’t change some habits would be a huge waste of money (pun intended). We feel that one dump a week could work if we all help. We are glad to make the changes if they are needed, and it might end up that way, we just needed to find out if there was a less expensive alternative.
Maintenance
You might have noticed that there has been maintenance around the grounds. We had the black trim paint done on many of the buildings. Also the sidewalks have been ground down to help your walks go a little smoother (yes another pun).
