GARBAGE
Holidays seem to produce lots of garbage. Our dumpsters have been overloaded, as expected. We just wanted to remind everyone to be extra diligent in compressing our trash. Thanks to all of those residents who have been working to limit problems.
SNOW REMOVAL
This year we have had an amazing amount of snowfall. Our snow removal company has done a great job at keeping it clean and clear. In fact, neighborhood streets cleared by the city still look a lot worse. Ours obviously could be better but we are not their only clients; other businesses pay a higher price to be the first ones on the list. Also, with the amount of snow that we have received it would be almost impossible to keep it any better without living here.
The contract that we signed with the snow removal company has helped us save money this season. We have a flat rate contract for snow removal that helped a lot during the heavy snowfall.
TRASH ON PORCHES
We have had several complaints of residents putting trash out on the porch in front of the door way in the common area. Putting trash out on the porch for extended periods is not okay. It needs to be dealt with. If you don’t want that smell in your house others don’t want to smell it when they leave theirs. Be courteous.
FREEZING PIPES
During this winter the temperatures drop very low and this can lead to pipes freezing. Some residents connect a hose to the faucet on the outside of the buildings. These need to be taken care of so it does not freeze the pipes and cause flooding. The hoses need to be taken off if they are not already.
LOST ITEMS AT THE POOL
At the close of the swimming season we found several items that were left at the pool. If you lost personal items at the pool contact TPM.
REPAIRS WITH NO ASSESSMENT
Over the past year we have reviewed many contracts and found many ways in which we can save money. TPM said that their other associations could not have done the repairs and maintenance that we have done without an assessment. That means that we came in under budget while doing bigger projects. We are headed in the right direction. It will take time, but we will do it.
NEW TRASH
Many of you may have noticed the change in the dumpsters. Our contract with Allied ended and we on the committee took the opportunity to review the contract and get other bids. We found by moving to Waste Management that we could save a significant amount. Please let us know of any new problems that you notice with Waste Management. We are aware of some of the inherent problems that come with having open garbage bins; we are trying to solve all of them. Some of the problems are out of our hands and in yours. These would be watching for non-resident dumping, dumping unacceptable items, and compressing as much as you can. We don’t think it is a good use of funds to spend several hundred dollars a month more for issues that are fixable.
GUEST PARKING
Plowing the large amounts of snow left several residents without a parking spot. If this is the case for your parking space you can park in a guest parking space until the snow is clear. Please contact Total Porperty Management (TPM) and let them know so you will not be towed.
