April 2007 Newsletter

Topics Discussed

Japanese Beetle Correction

The March Newsletter stated that residents could plant vegetables within their own patios. However, vegetables should not be planted in any outside soil for the next three years while the ground is being treated for beetle infestation. Vegetables grown outside in treated areas would not be safe to eat.

Garden Park Website

Reed Roberts has prepared the Garden Park website so that it is ready for use. The site contains past minutes, newsletters, etc. and may be accessed through - gardenparkcondos.com.

Asphalt Repairs

Two sealing coats will be applied to the entire surface of the roads in Garden Park when the initial repairs have been completed. This will result in a smooth surface that will look great!

Swimming Pool

With summer just around the corner, residents will be looking forward to the opening of the pool. Spa Tech will be contacted to prepare the pool for use. Remember that those who are delinquent in the payment of their dues, assessment or fines will not be allowed to use the pool, clubhouse or RV lot.

Clubhouse Use

Remember that the use of the Garden Park clubhouse is a privilege. Disregard for its use was shown by some recent users. One of the lamps was allowed to lie on its side until the lame shade was scorched by the bulb. This could have resulted in a fire. Many complaints, from nearby residents were received because of excessive noise. The new vacuum, purchased only a few months ago, was broken. Beer bottles were scattered among the bushes in the surrounding area. The activities went on until 11 PM, well beyond the 10 o'clock hour when the clubhouse is to be vacated. Personal property of the users was left behind and the clubhouse was not properly cleaned. Such wanton disregard shows a total disrespect for Garden Park and its other homeowners and residents.

Rules for Clubhouse use are outlined in the Community Rules and should be carefully followed. Repair and replacement costs for furnishings and equipment are the burden of all homeowners. We all pay! The minimal fee charged for clubhouse use does not cover these expenses.

Rental of the clubhouse does not include the swimming pool, grounds, parking lot or roads.

The adult homeowner or resident should be present in the clubhouse when it is in use.

Guest Parking

Why is it so hard to understand that guest parking is just that - for GUESTS? Residents should use their own assigned spaces. If you have more cars than two, you will need to make arrangements to rent or use an unused parking space of another resident. There are far too many cars left in guest parking spaces that do not belong there!

Park Walk

Watch for an announcement of a park walk, perhaps sometime in May when the weather is nice. This will give residents the opportunity to walk with members of the management committee through Garden Park to learn problems and successes.

Next Committee Meeting

The next meeting of the management committee will be May l6, 2007 at 7:00 PM. If you would like to be put on the agenda to present a personal concern to the committee, please contact Evelyn Lee at least by Saturday, May 12. OR you may include your question or concern in a letter or e-mail sent to TPM. The committee will then consider your problem, if it is something that cannot be handled by TPM.
