Thank yous are due to several people who have generously given their time and energy to serve Garden Park.
Jeff Roberts has done a super job of arranging for the asphalt work. He was able to save GP money, get two sealing coats, free striping, etc. Thank you, Jeff.
You have undoubtedly noticed the beautiful flowers in GP lately. Tiffany Roberts has been working hard planting them herself. She was able to purchase them at good prices, thus saving GP money.
Reed Roberts has spent many hours preparing a web site for GP. It will have many features and contain lots of information. More details will be forthcoming. Access the site -- www.gardenparkcondos.com. Thanks so much, Reed.
A vote of thanks is owed to Lois Chatfield and the members of the Finance Committee. They approached a challenging job and tried to determine how they could be of help to GP. Their service is appreciated. The Finance Committee has been discontinued.
There will be Park walks on Saturday, June 9, 2007. Times of the walks are 9:00 and 11:00 A.M. Members of the Management Committee will guide homeowners who wish to accompany them on a walk around Garden Park to view problem areas and successes.
The swimming pool opening is approaching! An exact date is not know at this time, so watch for the special day! Garden Park is re-keying the pool this year. New keys will be issued on Thursday, May 24 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. and at 7:00 P.M. at the clubhouse. Linda Russell has volunteered to issue the keys.
You may exchange a current key plus $10 for a new key. Cost of a new key without a current key will be $20. Replacement keys in case a key is lost will cost $50. So take good care of your key! Do not loan or lose it. One key is allowed for each unit. These keys may not be duplicated and will have the unit number on them. Residents who are not current in the payment of their management fees, assessment or fines will not be issued a pool key until their obligations to GP are paid in full and up to date. The pool is for the use of Garden Park residents and their invited guests. Please limit the number of guests you bring at a time. There must be an adult resident accompanying any user of the pool., Detailed swimming pool rules are included in the Community Rules.
Orem City will let us know when spraying for the Japanese Beetle will be done. It should be soon.
There is need for clarification about the difference between Garden Park Homeowners meetings and Garden Park Management Committee Meetings. Homeowners meetings are for all GP homeowners. An annual homeowners meeting is held in September following the election of GP Management Committee members. Those homeowners elected to the Management Committee will represent all homeowners to see that the buildings and grounds of GP are well cared ,for during the year beginning October 1. Other homeowners meetings may be held as needed. However, such meetings are infrequent.
On the other hand, GP Management Committee meetings are held regularly and frequently. The purpose of Committee meetings is to allow the elected members to discuss and manage the upkeep and maintenance of GP. These meetings are usually attended by elected Committee members and a representative of Total Property Management only. Occasionally guests, who could serve some special need of GP or persons to be hired for maintenance work are invited to attend.
Homeowners are not expect to attend Committee meetings. However, owners desiring to address the Committee about a concern related to the general management of GP or to the total well-being of the Park may request that they be put on the Committee meeting agenda and given time to discuss their concern or perhaps suggest an idea for improvement. (Owners with good helpful ideas could volunteer to run for election to the Management Committee!) Requests to be included on the agenda must be given to a Committee member at least three days before the scheduled meeting. Any homeowner, who wishes to attend a Committee meeting to listen only may do so. However, it is well to remember that these meetings are for the necessary work of the Committee and are not for general discussions or for owners to vent frustrations.
Concerns may also be addressed by e-mail or letters sent to the Committee or Total Property Management. Remember that care of the interior of each owner's unit is the responsibility of the owner.
Garden Park's property management company, Total Property Management, should be contacted if an owner or resident has an individual problem or question, i.e. light replacement, parking problems, rule violation, etc.
The next Management Committee meeting will be June 13, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.
